12th International Workshop of Construction
(July 14 - 28, 2018)

The Cula Curtisoara domain is 10km from Targu Jiu, a city famous for his sculptor Brancusi and his monumental ensemble (which we will visit).

Participants are expected to arrive in Curtisoara on the
13th of July in the evening (workshop starts at 8.30 next morning). For foreigners arriving by plane to Bucharest, the last train for Targu Jiu leaves at 17.45 and you need to count an hour to reach the train station from the airport. We can organise to pick you up at the train station in Targu Jiu.

The goal of the workshop is to introduce you to building & restoration basics through hands-on activities in the historical domain of Curtisoara. You will have the opportunity to tackle many type of materials (wood, metal, lime, clay, straw…) and construction techniques (carpentry, plastering…).
The workshop offers an intense rhythm through various activities and dense work calendar, enabling its participants to leave with a thorough building experience.
You will sleep in traditional houses of the village museum of Curtisoara. Camp beds will be provided on site. You must bring your own sleeping bag. Food will be prepared by participants taking turns: a good opportunity to socialise with people coming from different places and backgrounds!

The workshop fee is €270 for 15 days. It covers all activities on site, food, accommodation during the workshop in Curtisoara and all the necessary supplies and tools for the practical projects.
